Senate orders arrest of one alleged ninja cop

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee joint with Justice and Human Rights Committee has ordered the arrest of SPO1 Ronald Bayas Santos for not appearing in the continuation of hearing on the alleged drug recycling.

This came after Senator Panfilo Lacson motioned to cite Santos in contempt which was duly seconded by Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Minority Floor Leader Franklin Drilon and Senate Justice and Human Rights Committee Chairman Richard Gordon.

Santos was one of the 13 erring Pampanga cops who were involved in an anomalous drug buy-bust operation in Mexico, Pampanga in 2013.

These cops seized around 200 kilograms of drugs but only declared 36 kilograms in their spot report. They also arrested drug trafficker Johnson Lee but the foreign national managed to escape after the alleged ninja cops detained a fall guy in exchange of P50 million.

The Senate investigating panel is currently conducting its third hearing on the alleged ninja cops which stemmed from the probe on the implementation of the Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA).
