The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) formally expressed support for the International Federation of Landscape Architects-Asia Pacific Region (IFLA-APR) Congress 2019 through a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the event’s host, the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects (PALA).
DENR Assistant Secretary for Policy and Planning Service Corazon C. Davis and PALA resident Eric V. Estonido signed the MoA on Tuesday as an expression of support to the International Federation of Landscape Architects – Asia Pacific Region (IFLA-APR) Congress 2019 slated to happen on November 7-9 in Lahug City, Cebu.
The 78th IFLA-APR Congress 2019 is happening in Lahug City, Cebu on 7-9 November 2019. With its overarching theme, “CommonsSense: Linking the Commons and Engaging the Community in Sustainable Development,” the event will center on the role of design in promoting social and environmental sustainability, according to PALA which advocates for the creation and management of ecologically-balanced landscape design.
The congress is one of the biggest gatherings of landscape architects and representatives of various disciplines, and serves as a venue for the exchange of new ideas and advancement not only on the profession but on society and the built and natural environment as well.
