Harvest Festival launched to boost N. Ecija tourism

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – The SM Prime Holdings, thru the SM Megacenter and the SM City Cabanatuan, hosted the Harvest Festival 2019 over the weekend to make tourism in Nueva Ecija more exciting and lively.

The Harvest Festival 2019 aims to combine festivities of five cities and 27 towns of Nueva Ecija into one big festival held in Cabanatuan City, according to Assistant Mall Manager Carolyn Licup.

Harvest Festival 2019 featured works of the best designers from the province as the event also promotes the “One Town, One Product” (OTOP) program of each local government unit in the province.

“Nueva Ecija is a huge province and each cities and municipalities has its own unique culture, talent and creativity that we think is world class that can be properly gathered in one big celebration and promoted as a destination for local and international tourist every September,” said Assistant Mall Manager Jay Ar Padilla adding that the endeavor of the company is to draw as much visitors to the province.

Harvest Festival 2019 featured a costume competition that showcased models wearing beautiful wardrobes made from abaca, buri, palay, walis, rattan and other materials found in the province. It also featured a street dance competition wherein dance groups from all the areas in the province competed.

Padilla noted that the event was honored at the internationally acclaimed Stevie Awards in Singapore last year and he is optimistic it will continue to bag awards in the next coming years because of the hard work and dedication of the people behind this project.

“We are encouraging more participants next year with the support of their local government units because as we work together everything is possible,” Padilla added.
