New Philippine Airlines (PAL) president and chief operating officer Gilbert Santa Maria will prioritize the carrier’s service and profitability as he assumes the post, the company said on Monday in its Facebook page.
The company’s board announced the appointment of the former IBEX Global COO in a meeting on Monday.
Santa Maria, who left behind his Los Angeles-based advisory firm to join PAL, brings into the airline his three decades of experience in executive management leadership across various industries, such as business process outsourcing, finance, strategic management, management consultancy, etc., the post read.
Santa Maria has a Master’s Degree in Public and Private Management from the Yale University School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. He was born and raised in Mindanao.
