A total of 18 police stations joined the 1st Police Skills Olympics where participants pitted skills in writing stories and handling media interviews.

Participants were instructed to write on-the-spot reports and news releases to assess their response capability, Antique Provincial Police Office (APPO) Deputy Director for Operations, Lt. Col. Norby Escobar said.

“The activity is an idea from the national headquarters to ensure the responsiveness of the police personnel in terms of providing information,” Escobar explained.

Philippine Information Agency Antique manager Vicente Villavert; Marry Joy Vego, Production Supervisor of Buenavista Cable; and reporter Franz Garion of DYKA radio station served as judges.

Critique and advise were also given to the participants to further improve their skills.
