Blackwater clobbered Alaska, 112-104, to claim the third spot in the quarterfinals of the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. scored 25 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to lead Elite to its seventh win in 11 matches.

Roi Sumang delivered 18 points and five assists on top of several gutsy plays down the stretch that pulled Blackwater out of trouble.

“We challenged our guys to keep the third seed coming into the playoffs,” said Blackwater coach Aris Dimaunahan. “We want to get a win before going to the playoffs. At least now, we’re confident against whoever we will face.”

Diamon Simpson pumped in 24 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists while Chris Banchero chipped in 18 points for the Aces, who are in a precarious situation after absorbing their seventh loss in 11 outings.
