Isko issues ultimatum to illegal firms

The mayor is offering amnesty to thousands of drivers who have not redeemed their license from cityhall.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso gave business establishments operating without permits “one more chance” or face closure.

While doing random checking at Lacson Underpass in Quiapo, Moreno discovered two out of 20 merchants have no business permits.

“Who are continuing to do business without a permit? Buti pa ang mga vendor nagbabayad pa ng etneb (P20), sila hindi,” Moreno told reporters during a press conference at the Manila City Hall.

The Commission on Audit (COA) revealed more than 1,400 business establishments in Manila are operating illegally.
