After stepping down from his post as board member of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) president and General Manager Jesus Clint Aranas has also resigned from the agency on Tuesday.
His resignation was was confirmed by GSIS Vice President Marge Jorillo, although there was no clear reason yet on why he had stepped down from his post.
“I hereby tender my resignation as President and General Manager of the Government Insurance System (GSIS) effective of business today,” Aranas said in his letter to Duterte.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea also confirmed that the Office of the President had already received Aranas’ resignation letter.
The GSIS chief stressed that while he is stepping down from his post, he is confident that he abided by all laws during his time as GSIS chief.
“I resign, secure in the knowledge that I have unwaveringly advanced the interest of GSIS and its members in discharging the functions of the said office always in obeisance to all laws and never once compromising my integrity or that of the office I now relinquish,” said Aranas.
