Piñol cleared of corruption allegations

DA Sec. Manny Pinol.

The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) on Wednesday cleared Agriculture secretary Manny Piñol from corruption allegations following a lifestyle check that lasted seven months.

In a resolution dated 10 June, the commission en banc concluded there is no evidence that will corroborate illegal wealth complaints against Piñol.

The lifestyle check was conducted with the help of partner agencies, including the Anti-Money Laundering Council, National Bureau of Investigation, Land Transportation Office, Land Registration Authority, Philippine National Police, Civil Security Group and Firearms and Explosives Office.

Piñol voluntarily submitted all of his records, including bank accounts and other financial documents.
