The 40-percent tariff on mechanically deboned meat imposed by the Bureau of Customs has triggered high production costs for meat companies.

Frabelle Foods president Fay Bernardo bared this on Monday during the launch of their food trade venture with US-based sausage company Johnsonville International LLC.
