If 72-year-old Juan de Guia of Bulakan, Bulacan fathered a child at his age today, he can still support that baby. In fact, he gave more than P100,000 to a woman who claimed to know the one he impregnated less than two decades ago.
Apparently, De Guia produced a love child from a past relationship and the friend of that woman from his past took advantage of the situation. Jennelyn Faustino made the old man believe that she would deliver the child support money to the mother of the love in General Santos City.
However, he got suspicious when Faustino asked for money for his child’s schooling. How could the child still be young when he was born in 2005, according to Guia.
His suspicion grew stronger when the money he sent to his supposed “mother and child” through a remittance center in Bulakan was also claimed in the same town, instead of in General Santos City.
De Guia sought the help of police who set an entrapment operation wherein he would personally hand over money to Faustino.
When the two recently met and he handed the marked money to her, undercover cops observing nearby pounced and arrested her.
Faustino was forced to admit the fraud to the police. The suspect said she used De Guia’s money to support her own child and expressed remorse for her actions.
While De Guia’s money supported Faustino’s child, it is now she who is badly in need of help for the swindling and extortion charges she is now facing.
