Villar still No. 1 in official count


Reelectionist Sen. Cynthia Villar still held the top spot in the senatorial race with over 4 million votes based on the partial and official count of the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) on Tuesday evening.

With certificates of canvass from the initial 34 clustered precincts already counted, Villar had 4,092,454 votes or about 400,000 more than the second-ranked Grace Poe and over 800,000 more than Bong Go who was running at third spot.

Meanwhile, Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) led the party-list race after it garnered 560,220 votes or over 300,000 more than second ranked Bayan Muna which had 216, 673 votes.

The NBOC’s canvassing of votes will resume today, Wednesday at 10 am.
