Vico Sotto, the 29-year-old son of comedian Vic Sotto and actress Connie Reyes, won the mayoralty race in Pasig City and, with Romulo Roman winning a congressional seat, ended decades of the Eusebios’ stranglehold on city politics.
With 302,792 votes already tallied and only 5,000 votes to be counted, Sotto amassed 188,327 votes to foil the reelection bid of outgoing Mayor Bobby Eusebio who had 109,249 votes.
Sotto was only a three-year-old toddler when the Eusebios started their dominance in Pasig City in 1992.
Romulo had 202,653 votes to upend Ricky Eusebio’s return bid to Congress. Eusebio had 88,404 votes.
In his Facebook page, Sotto thanked his supporters while promising changes to come.
“Maraming salamat.
