A normal condition grid status for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao was raised Monday.
Based on the power situation report for the 2019 mid-term elections released by the Department of Energy (DoE), the following were the status of power generation plants as of 11 p.m. of 13 May 2019:
GNPower Mariveles Coal Plant Ltd. Co. Unit 1 has a dependable capacity of 316 megawatts (MW) of the 345 MW installed capacity. It was on forced outage due to high turbine vibration and is expected to be resolved at earliest by 15 May 2019.
Team Energy Corporation’s Pagbilao Unit 1, with 382 MW dependable capacity, was also on forced outage due to excessive water leak at feed water flow sensing line and expected to be back on normal operation on 14 May 2019.
SEM-Calaca Power Corporation’s Calaca Unit 2 is derated by 100 MW and running only at 200 MW due to half condenser operation.
Pagbilao Energy Corporation’s Pagbilao Unit 3 has a reduced capacity of 370 MW as it is undergoing boiler condition assessment.
SMC Consolidated Power Corporation’s Limay Unit 2 is derated to 130 MW with its boiler condition under assessment.
Angat Hydropower Corporation’s Angat Hydroelectric Power Plant Main Units 1-4 is derated by 172 MW with limited output at only 28 MW due to low water levels.
First Gen Hydro Power Corporation’s Pantabangan Hydroelectric Power Plant Units 1-2, is not available due to low water levels.
SN-Aboitiz Power Inc. Binga Hydroelectric Power Plant Units 1-4 is derated by 68 MW and operating at 70 MW only also due to low water levels.
SN-Aboitiz Power Inc.’s Magat Hydroelectric Power Plant Units 1-4 has a limited capacity of 70 MW also due to low water levels.
SN-Aboitiz Power Inc.’s Ambuklao Hydroelectric Power Plant Units 1-3 is derated by 35 MW due to low water levels.
For Visayas, Silay Solar with 25 MW experienced Outside-Managemetn-Control forced outage at 1235H due to the tripping of CENECO’s 69 kV line. The solar farm will resume operation once the line of CENECO is restored.
For Mindanao, the Unit 2 of FDC Misamis with an installed capacity of 135 MW was on forced outage due to induced draft fan trouble at 1429H. Target energization of Unit 2 is by 8:00 PM.
In the transmission sector, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said there were line outages in the Palanas-Cara-Allen-Lao-ang 69 kV Line, Bacolod-Silay 69 kV Line, and Tacurong-Datu Saudi Ampatuan 69 kV Line but all were immediately addressed and restored.
Meanwhile, the following distribution utilities had reported outages (see attached picture) and oil companies reported sufficient supply and reserves in all regions.
