Luzon grid on yellow, red alert anew


The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has placed Luzon electricity grid on red and yellow alert Friday, 3 May due to thinning operating reserve.

The red alert will start from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. while the yellow alert will last from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. then 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

According to NGCP, the peak demand is 11,046 MW while the available capacity 11,054 MW.

The Department of Energy will release further details within the day, the NGCP said.
