The National Water Resources Board (NWRB) said Metro Manila is the priority to be served by the Angat Dam whose water level continues to drop due to high demand from users and lack of rain.
NWRB Executive Director Dr. Sevillo David Jr. said Thursday in a radio interview the dam will stop irrigating farms in parts of Bulacan and Pampanga.
The dam’s water allocation for irrigation had already been reduced.
Meanwhile, David said the board is watching for the rain that the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast to come during the months of May to July despite the prevailing El Niño.
‘Yun ang masusi nating binabantayan,” said David.
