The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) on Tuesday announced that a total of 204,000 jobs are up for grabs in a Labor Day caravan organized by government in celebration of the holiday.
In a statement, the DoLE said that close to 18,000 of the total vacancies are for state positions which include positions in the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
It also disclosed that the other openings are for customer service representatives, machine operators, collection specialists, cashiers, retail agents, account specialists, service crew, utility staff, baggers, skilled sewers and vacancies in the construction sector under the administration’s Build, Build, Build program.
The Labor agency also said that overseas placements includes factory workers, nurses, machine operators, welders, household workers, waiters, bakers and English teachers for Thailand.
“We are thankful to the companies for making available volumes of opportunities for our workers on Labor Day. We also expect other agencies of government needing manpower to join us,” Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello said.
