The Cebu City government is offering P1.6 million reward for anyone who can give information that will lead to the arrest of the killers of 16-year-old Christine Lee Silawan, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza announced Wednesday, 13 March.
In a press conference, Radaza said the offer aims to expedite the solving of the case.
The reward money will be sourced from the Lapu-Lapu City government which will provide P1 million, a foreign national who will give P500,000 and from The Advisory Council of Police Regional Office in Central Visayas which will contribute P100, 000.
Silawan, a grade 9 student from Cebu City, was found dead with her head skinned in a vacant lot on Monday morning. Her throat was slit and her body bore several stab wounds.
An autopsy later found that internal organs of the victims were removed, including her esophagus, tongue and trachea.
