Bong Go pushes for ADAC law

In support of the Duterte’s administration’s ongoing fight against drugs, crime, and corruption, former Special Assistant to the President and aspiring senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go announced his intention of pushing into legislation the Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC).

“Itong sa Anti-Drug Abuse Council, sa ngayon, ay isang memorandum circular lamang po, kaya gusto rin nating maisapabatas ito (to require) all the barangay units na magkaroon ng Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council na talagang (magpapalakas sa) kampanya (laban sa droga sa) local government level (at sa) Barangay level,” Go stated.

On Monday morning, Go was invited to join the morning flag ceremony, the Rafael T. Crame Balangay Awards ceremony and the launching of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terrorismo program at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.P NP officials, local leaders and other guests welcomed him.

In Crame, Go reminded people that he is a staunch supporter of the Duterte administration’s campaign against drugs.

“Itong drugs naman po, galit po ang Pangulo sa droga, galit din po ako sa droga,” he said.

Go said ADAC are necessary in ongoing government-led campaigns against illegal drugs, crime, and corruption as well as terrorism. He added every Filipino is vital in these campaigns.

“Kampanya po ito laban sa ilegal na droga, korapsyon at terorismo. This is a continuing program of the President na kahit na ako, pulis o sino pa man ay kasama dito sa kampanyang ito ng gobyerno laban lalo na sa terorismo at ilegal na droga,” he said.

The senatorial candidate dispelled notions that his presence in the day’s events in Camp Crame is part of his strategy to campaign early.

“I’m not campaigning. I am here as an invited guest and a member of the Honorary Association of Chief of Police of the Philippines; naka-indicate po ‘yun sa documents. So pagkapasok ko po kanina, sinabi ko po na huwag ninyo akong bigyan ng honorary honors. Ordinaryong Pilipino lang ako dito na nakikisama sa iisang adhikain,” Go said.

“Pumunta po ako dito as a guest of honor and a private citizen. Bilang former SAP, gusto po akong bigyan ng honorary honors kaya noong ako po ay naimbitahan dito, tinanggap ko po dahil ito po ay bahagi ng programa,” he said.
