Closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitors have been installed at all Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) passenger terminals for travelers to see baggage handlers if they are handling luggage with care and deter them from committing pilferage.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal said he ordered the installation of the CCTV monitors on top of baggage conveyors to show transparency when it comes on handling of baggage specially those belonging to passengers from international flights.

The screen shows the luggage as they come out and are loaded on the conveyor belt. Through the monitors, a passenger would know when it’s time to go near the carousel to pick up his luggage and also see how his baggage had been handled.

Monreal said the baggage handling monitors elicited positive reactions from passengers.
