Bus driver saves wandering toddler

An alert bus driver spotted a barefooted toddler wandering on a highway in Milwaukee, USA and rescued the child before he froze to death.

The rescue recorded on the bus’ camera happened on 22 December with Irena Ivic pulling over and grabbing the crying child wearing only a diaper and shirt.

Ivic, who works for the Milwaukee County Transit System, took the child inside the bus and called the police while a passenger gave her coat to warm the boy exposed to the freezing cold.

Police later took custody of the child, who was frightened but unharmed.

The mother of the toddler was reportedly suffering from a mental crisis and left the child unattended.
