Six provincial governors pledged to make former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go the No. 1 senatorial candidate in their turfs.
The pledge was made during President Rodrigo Duterte and former SAP Bong Go’s attendance in the birthday celebration of Masbate Governor Antonio T. Kho at Kalasangan Farm.
The six were Northern Samar Gov. Jose Ong Jr., Catanduanes Gov. Joseph Cua, Sorsogon Gov. Robert Lee Rodrigueza, Mayor Vicente Limpiado of Tagapul-an, Western Samar who represented Western Samar Gov. Sharee Ann Tan and Kho himself.
Also committing his support for Go was former Sulu Governor and 2019 gubernatorial candidate Abdusakur Tan.
Kho bared his alliance with fellow Filipino-Chinese leaders to support the senatorial bid of the former SAP.
Kho then called on his peers to join him in raising the hands of Go to display their unity in support of his candidacy for the Senate.
“Siyempre po, honored po ako sa suportang ipinakita ninyo. Nakakataba ng puso at nakaka-inspire na mas mapaganda pa ang serbisyo natin sa tao. Wala po kaming ibang hangarin kung hindi ang kabutihan ng ating kapwa Pilipino,” Go said in response to the gesture.
“Asahan ninyo hindi ko kayo bibiguin. Lagi ko ngang sinasabi: ako ang magiging tulay niyo sa Pangulo,” Go added.
A senatorial candidate in the 2019 midterm elections, Bong Go has a legislative idea that includes programs on agriculture, anti-illegal drugs and criminality drive, anti-corruption drive, housing, improved health service delivery, education, long-term sports development, localized peace talks, fire safety and prevention, creation of a Department of OFWs, barangay welfare, and improved benefits for senior citizens.
