Former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. can walk out a free man today when the Sandiganbayan Special First Division hands its verdict on his plunder case over the alleged misuse of his so-called pork barrel fund.
Or Revilla could go back to the Philippine National Police Custodial Center where he has been detained for four years, in the event he has to appeal a guilty verdict.
Sources had said a swing vote will decide Revilla’s fate because two justices are in favor of conviction while two are for acquittal.
Revilla’s wife, Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado, has arrived in Camp Crame in Quezon City to accompany him in the expected promulgation.
As a senator, Revilla was accused of funnelling his Priority Development Assistance Fund to the bogus non-governmental organizations of Janet Lim-Napoles allegedly for kickbacks.
