The Department of Transportation (DoTr) today asked for understanding from commuters being inconvenienced by the operation of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).

In a statement, the DoTr said the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has already met with some provincial bus operators who complained of being held hostage by their own drivers who do not want to pass by PITX.

The DoTr said that less than the actual intended users of the terminal are using the PITX, leading to many unserved passengers at night.

The DoTR added that the LTFRB will issue new franchises to city buses, UV Express vehicles and jeepneys for routes to and from the PITX to various areas in Metro Manila like Bonifacio Global City, Lawton and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
