Madrigal to replace retiring Galvez

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Lt. Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr. as new Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff, according to sources in Malacañang.

Madrigal, AFP Eastern Mindanao Command chief, will assume the post when Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr. retires on Wednesday, 12 December.

The two were classmates in Sandiwa Class of 1985 of the Philippine Military Academy.
