Pinoys in Syria safe from gas attack

THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday announced that no Filipinos were hurt in a toxic gas attack in Aleppo, Syria last month.

The DFA also noted that the 85 Filipinos based in Aleppo were safe from the incident.

Charge d’Affaires Alex Lamadrid of the Philippine Embassy in Damascus advised the Filipino community in Syria to remain vigilant and “to continuously monitor developments” and added they should avoid areas of Jamyet Alzahraa, Al-Khalidyeh and Al-Neil Street in Aleppo, which had been targeted by rebels.
