VICE President Leni Robredo has vowed to be a "stronger voice" in checking the policies of the Duterte administration.

The Social Weather Stations (SWS) issued a notice that warns the public of a malicious survey on Vice President Leni Robredo’s state of mental health, branding the survey as “fake news.”

The pollster reacted to an article published in the website Daily Readers claiming that 45 percent of Filipinos believe Robredo has a mental problem.

“In reference to the article, ‘45 percent ng mga Filipino naniniwalang may ‘mental problem’ si VP Robredo — SWS, posted by the website, Daily Readers, at http://www.dailyreader.online/2018/10/45-ng-mga-filipino-naniniwalang-may.html, the public is hereby informed that SWS has not conducted any survey related to the state of mental health of any public official or person,” SWS said in a statement on its website.

“The public is hereby informed that SWS has not conducted any survey related to the state of mental health of any public official or person. We strongly condemn the spread of misinformation with malicious intent.

The pollster urged readers to rely only on the SWS website (www.sws.org.ph) for SWS survey reports released to the public.

Robredo has been the subject of various fake news items and disinformation including a claim that she planned the plane crash of her late husband and former Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo.

Robredo herself has debunked the allegation, saying that her husband’s death was difficult for her family.

“Why would I make myself go through that hardship? Why would I do that to my children? And why would I hurt the person who love me so much? When he died, we went through all the hardships. So, why would I do that? There’s no logic behind it,” Robredo said.
