Put the shame on shaming

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned – and in this case, a woman who is well on her way to motherhood.

A netizen learned this the hard way after posting a rude comment on Instagram on celebrity disc jockey (DJ) Nicole Hyala’s post in celebration of her second pregnancy.

The DJ posted on Instagram a few photos from her maternity shoot to show the many wonderful changes pregnancy brings about to a woman’s body but it seems that there were those who forget this – and their manners.

The commenter had left a hateful remark on her body which essentially had body-shamed the celebrity, saying things like “your navel looks nasty” and “no queen has a dirty navel” – which left a bad taste in the mouth.

But the celebrity DJ did not take it sitting down, screengrabbing the comment and posted her own civil comment — a class act of her own – to condemn body-shaming and bullying.

“Face-shaming is horrible in itself, but I think body-shaming a pregnant woman is too much,” read a portion of her post. “The nature of my job makes me an easy target for criticism. I understand that. But I do not deserve it. Especially not for the changes that occurred as I grow a human being inside my body. You can criticize me all you want, but don’t bully me for being a mother.”
