The power outage in parts of Northern Samar, Marikina City and Pasig City was resolved Thursday, the Task Force on Energy Resiliency (TFER) of the Department of Energy (DoE) said Saturday in an advisory.
The TFER reported that the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) restored power in the part of Northern Samar affected by the outage at 4:48 p.m.
Meralco’s restoration crew also repaired power lines that were cut by a toppled tree in Barangay Tanong, Sto. Nino, Sta. Elena in Marikina and in Barangay Santolan in Pasig.
The Santolan circuit was restored at 9:59 p.m. Thursday, according to TFER.
There is a power outage caused by a toppled tree in the MERALCO franchise area that affected Brgys. Tanong, Sto. Nino, Sta. Elena in Marikina and Brgy. Santolan in Pasig since 5:38PM.
The Cagayan 2 Electric Cooperative (CAGELCO 2) will do power restoration work in Sanchez Mira, Pamplona, Sta. Praxedes, Claveria, Abulug, Luna and Pudtol in Cagayan Province when the weather clears. The said areas were without power since 5:38 p.m. Thursday.
“The CAGELCO 2 continues to monitor the situation and will dispatch the restoration teams once it is determined to be safe to restore the power,” the TFER said.
Meanwhile, 4. the National Power Corporation reported that water spill operations were still ongoing at the Ambuklao and Binga Dams in Benguet with water levels at 749.74 meters above sea level (masl) and 572.73 masl, respectively. Said water spills are being conducted with utmost caution to maintain normal water level in the reservoir.
“The DoE family continues to assure the public that the entire energy sector is actively monitoring the situation on the ground, and is responding to all reported power disturbances,” said the TFER.
