NPD busts drug ring, seizes P12.65M shabu

Reported to National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Director, Police Chief Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar the arrest of six drug suspects were arrested and 1.8 kilo of suspected shabu with an estimated value P12.65 million were seized during separate buy-bust operations of Northern Police District’s drug enforcers on Friday.

Northern Police District (NPD) Director, Police Chief Superintendent Gregorio Noto Lim identified the suspects as Girlie Lopez, 38 years old, female, married, jobless and residing at 1042 interior 2 New Antipolo Street, Barangay 217, Tondo, Manila City; Leah Carpio Aguilar, 34 years old, female, married, jobless and residing at 1040 E New Antipolo Street, Barangay 217, Tondo, Manila City; Peter Mamangon,31 years old, married, jobless and presently residing No. 1042 New Antipolo, Tondo, Manila; Philip Mamangon, (not listed/pusher), 34 years old, married, jobless and presently residing at Block 44, Lot 1, Barangay Caysio, Sta Maria Bulacan, Lowie Lopez, 37 years old, married and presently residing at No. 1042 New Antipolo Street, Tondo, Manila; and Reynaldo Lusterio, 30 years old, single and presently residing at No. 160 Libis Baesa, Caloocan City.

On the first operation, operatives of NPD’s drug unit led by PSInsp. Cecilio G. Tomas conducted buy operation at about 2:00 AM of 10 August 2018, inside a house located at 1042 interior 2 New Antipolo Street, Barangay 217, Tondo, Manila that resulted to the arrest of Lopez and Carpio.

The two sold one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be “shabu” weighing 50 grams and worth P5,000 to PO2 Anthony Marquez who acted as poseur buyer together with PO2 Kenneth Geronimo.

The police officers recovered from the suspects 19 heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing same substance weighing total of 950 grams with estimated market value of P6,500,000, a black weighing scale and buy bust money.

In the second operation conducted at about 3:30 AM on the same day, the NPD operatives initiated another buy-bust operation led by PSInp Cecilio G. Tomas at Libis Baesa, Barangay 160, Caloocan City that resulted in the arrest of the Mamangons, Lopez and Lusterio after they sold a pack of shabu weighing 2.5 grams and worth P5,000 to PO2 Ronel Tamayo who acted as poseur buyer together with PO1 Regie Alilano and PO3 Raymundo Nagar III.

The said operatives were able to recover from the suspects five plastic sachets containing 850 grams with estimated market value of P6.15 million and P5,000 as buy-bust money.

The NPD officers also recovered a total of 1.8 kilograms of suspected shabu with a street value of P12.650 million and a total of P1,000 as buy bust money in their two separate anti-illegal drugs buy-bust operation.

The said suspects will be filed cases for Violation of Section 5 in relation to Sec. 26 and Sec. 11 of Article II of R.A. 9165 before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s office while the recovered pieces of evidence including the arrested suspects were brought to PNP-Crime Laboratory Office, Camp Crame, Quezon City for qualitative and quantitative examination and drug test for the suspects.
