Drive vs crimes, drugs made people safer — Palace


THE campaign against criminality and illegal drugs in the first two years of the Duterte administration has made more people feel safer and more secure at home, the Palace said on Tuesday.

“Marami pa pong dapat magawa, pero ang importante po [There are still yet to do, but the important thing is], even the surveys will indicate na [that] majority of our people feel safer, they feel more secure in their homes dahil nga po dito sa [because of this] drive against criminality and the war against drugs,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said a press briefing yesterday in Indang, Cavite.

Roque also said the campaign has curtailed the sale of illegal drugs as the Philippine National Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency destroyed the huge amount of seized narcotics.

Eradicating illegal drugs is among the main goals of President Rodrigo Duterte as he promised it during the election campaign in 2016. Dean Carlo Ventura
