GUARDS at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center could be relieved and charged with neglect of duty after jailed former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was able to post “selfie” pictures on his social media accounts.

“This is a violation of the policies and rules and regulations na ipinatutupad sa ating custodial center (that we are implementing at the custodial center),” PNP spokesperson, Senior Supt. Benigno Durana Jr., told newsmen.

“How serious it is could be determined by our investigators. Administrative case definitely,” Durana said.

Durana said the PNP Headquarters Support Service is currently investigating the liability of policemen on duty at that time.

Durana said surprise inspections in the custodial center are already undertaken twice a week to guard against the entry of contraband.

Revilla is detained at the PNP Custodial Center for his alleged involvement in the multi-billion peso anomaly involving legislators’ Priority Development Assistance Funds, or pork barrel funds that were supposedly misappropriated under the direction of businesswoman Janet Napoles.
