Pagara reclaims WBO bantam belt

THE World Boxing Organization (WBO) Intercontinental Super Bantamweight title is back on the waist of ‘Prince’ Albert Pagara after losing it to Cesar Juarez in his first-ever defeat in 2014 by stopping Ghanaian foe Laryea Gabriel Odoi in the third round of the main event of Pinoy Pride 44: Laban sa Leyte boxing derby on Saturday evening at the Maasin City Gym.

Pagara dominated the match battering Odoi in the first two rounds that sent the latter to the canvass multiple times before sealing the victory with hard body shots at the 2:30 mark of the third round that forced the latter’s corner to throw in the towel.

It was Pagara’s 30th win in 31 fights and his 21st knockout/TKO that dealt Odoi his first stoppage loss in 26 bouts.

In the other Pinoy Pride 44: Laban sa Leyte matches, Pagara’s older brother Jason stopped Indonesian Wellem Reyk in the third round while Jeo Santisima also stopped Thailand’s Likit Chane in the third round.
