UAE sends Ramadan greetings to Islamic world

ABU DHABI – United Arab Emirates President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent congratulatory messages to kings, emirs and presidents of Arab and Islamic nations on the advent of Ramadan.

Shaikh Khalifa wished the leaders and their people good health and well-being, and further progress and prosperity.

Their Highnesses Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also sent similar messages to Arab and Muslim leaders.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed also offered his best wishes to Shaikh Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and the Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers.

He also extended Ramadan greetings to the heroes of the UAE Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, has ordered the release of 81 prisoners of different nationalities as the UAE continues to live up to its own tradition.

The Fujairah leader said these prisoners who demonstrated good conduct during their terms of imprisonment in punitive and correctional institutions in the emirate were released ahead of the Ramadan and as part of the ‘Year of Zayed 2018.’

The move reflects Shaikh Hamad’s keenness to provide the pardoned inmates an opportunity to start a new life, reintegrate into society, and ease the hardships of their families.
