New Bohol Airport’s construction 80.21% completed

CONSTRUCTION of the New Bohol Airport in Panglao is 80.21 percent complete as of end of March 2018, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) reported.

Once completed in June and operational by August 2018, the new airport can accommodate up to two million passengers. The number is significantly higher than the 800,000 passengers currently being accommodated by the Tagbilaran airport annually.

The Panglao airport will be known as the first eco-friendly airport in the Philippines with natural light and air for ventilation, as well as solar panels to provide one-third of the airport’s energy usage.
