Hotshots beat Road Warriors via strong fourth quarter, take 2-1 lead

MAGNOLIA beat NLEX behind a strong fourth quarter, 106-99, to take a 2-1 lead in their PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

A brief run ignited by Jio Jalalon’s drive enabled the Hotshots to pad their 91-89 lead to 98-91 which they gamely protected en route to victory.

Game 4 of the best-of-7 series is set on Friday, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena, with the Hotshots carrying huge momentum.

Jalalon finished with 25 points including four triples and pulled down five rebounds, three assists and two steals as he wrought the biggest havoc on the Road Warriors whom the Hotshots also defeated in Game 2 last Monday.

Ian Sangalang  was also solid as he finished with 24 points and seven rebounds, and so with Rome dela Rosa and Paul Lee who chipped in 17 and 14 points, respectively.
