MY boyfriend and I recently watched the movie “Wonder”. It’s a movie about a boy who has a facial deformity since birth.
Played by Jacob Tremblay, the main protagonist named Auggie was born with a rare medical facial deformity known as “mandibulofacial dysostosis”. Auggie had undergone 27 surgeries and was homeschooled by his mother Isabel, played by Julia Roberts.
The story is about the boy’s challenges in life, and his interaction with people who were influenced by his courage and by his own unique wonder.
He is managing to survive bullying due to his deformity and his predicament affects his family.
But because of their support and understanding, each of them sends hope to us viewers that Auggie will get through with life and get the normalcy he deserves.
When I was watching this film, I can’t help but be in tears, because I can feel the protagonist’s situation, how he communicated to people and how people look and treat him differently because of his appearance.
The film has received positive reviews from critics and audiences, and in my opinion, this is probably one of the best movies I have seen.
If you want to watch a tear-jerking, feel-good movie, then I recommend this movie.
