Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chairman Jose Jorge Elizalde Corpuz has resigned, but Malacanang clarified he was not the official whom President Duterte intends to fire soon.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced the resignation Friday.

Corpuz cited health reasons for his resignation from the post and as member of the PCSO board.

Earlier, Duterte said he would fire three generals and 70 police officials in the coming days to rid the government of corruption.

Corpuz was a former general.

PCSO officials were accused of spending P6 million for a Christmas party in December.
