Christmas is coming

PEOPLE in the Philippines almost always like to celebrate Christmas for as long as possible.

This is the reason why the country is known for having the world’s longest Christmas season.

Today is the first day of December, which means Christmas is us upon us, which gets everyone excited.

Signs of Christmas are all around us – Santa Claus, silver bells, lanterns, Christmas trees and most of all Christmas lights. Without these, we seemingly have a hard time feeling the spirit of Christmas.

Christmas is defined as celebrating the birth of Christ, but more than this, it is also the celebration of giving and the celebration of uniting family and friends.

For many children, Christmas also means Santa Claus will be visiting on Christmas eve, placing gifts for those who have been nice the whole year.

But for some, Christmas is a holiday, a time to escape from a stressful, overworked career and mindless work. It’s a day to relax, spend time with family and friends.

To me, Christmas means a time of happiness and spreading love and joy to everyone. I love this time of year because I get the chance to be with my family and friends.

Let’s all have a merrier Christmas.
