THE Department of Energy (DOE) started Monday the 13th DOE Fuel Economy Run for sedans, SUVs, MPVs and pickups in Clark, Pampanga to rate the energy efficiency and emission of such vehicles running on Euro 4 fuel.

Registration of participating motorists started at 7:00 a.m. afterwhich participants presented their vehicle entries for scrutiny by DOE representatives. The representatives made sure that all cars are properly functioning to ensure safety during the run.

Next, XCS fuel were loaded to gas cars and Turbo Diesel to diesel cars. A seal was then put on top of the cover to ensure that the vehicle is not tampered with until the beginning of the actual run.

The last step before the run was the turnover of car keys to DOE representative Tony Basco of the EECD to ensure that no one has access to the participating vehicles and will only be available again during the flag off.
